My random drafts are in the 4-6 round range. I use reserve rosters instead of minor leagues. I hardly ever start a random using the default MLB setup for the year I choose to begin. Instead, I delete teams and restructure the league to my liking. This of course, means my reserve rosters are fuller to start than the default 19 players. If I was to start a league using the default MLB setup in which every team is stocked with 44 players, I would probably go with a 10-12 round draft for the first few years, in order to build up reserve rosters. I like to use at least the normal injury setting, but prefer the high(modern day).
