Already down in the League Championship Series, the New York Mets put on their best show, beating the Cincinnati Reds by a final score of 2-0 today. Bob Myrick earned player of the game honors, as he threw 9 innings of shutout ball. New York now trails Cincinnati 2-1 in the best-of-5 affair.
Myrick gave New York a solid start. The left-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits over 9 innings.
"Bob's tempo and rhythm were good," said Mets manager . "He was the key to us winning."
Game 4 is set to be played tomorrow in New York. Slated to start are Pat Darcy for Cincinnati and Nino Espinosa for New York.
