APRIL 22, 1906
The Cubs remained at home for a series against the Pittsburgh Pirates. It would be another three games in four days series. The Cubs had the best pitching so far in the National League but offensive woes were hurting them. Only two teams in the league had scored fewer runs than Chicago. Meanwhile, the Pirates led the league in team batting average and were second in the league in scoring.
