Magpies the top seeds after impressive second half resurgence

Thirty teams set out on 1 April on an epic 162-game voyage across the choppy waters that are the State Capitals League regular season campaign. Twenty of those ran aground on route or smashed to pieces against the rocks. Just ten successfully made it to shore, parking their vessels on the sandy beaches of Playoffland. But which group of explorers will discover the long lost treasure known only as the SCL Cup Final Series Trophy?
Tortuous and dubious analogies aside, the SCL postseason is at long last here. Indianapolis’s 5-0 trouncing of Trenton in last night’s elimination playoff secured for them the second and final Eastern League wildcard spot, and completed the roster of teams who will battle it out for glory. For the first time in five years, we will not have a Montgomery versus Baton Rouge showdown in the Cup Final Series, after both teams were eliminated following disappointing seasons.

West Coast Division: Carson City Rattlesnakes (94-68)
South Division: Austin Tycoons (86-76)
Wildcards: Salem Ironclads (92-70), Sacramento Stingrays (88-74)
Eastern League:
North East Division: Providence Blue Rocks (90-72)
Central Division: Columbus Heatseekers (93-79)
South East Division: Tallahassee Islanders (88-76)
Wildcards: Annapolis Mustangs (92-70), Indianapolis Wildcats (88-74)
