- Cory Adams out-pitched the Sharks’ ace Carlos Lara in the first game of the series with 8 innings of 2-run ball, but didn’t get the deserved win as we only got ourselves in front in the bottom of the 9th.
- The next day, Ricardo Vargas beat Lansing’s #2 starter, Jason Jordan, with an even better display: 5.1 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 10 K. Tadamichi Hamada hit 2-3 with 2 doubles and a base on balls.
- We took the sweep after Ángel Márquez’s scorching walk-off 3-run HR in the 10th inning. Rob Crawford smacked 4 base hits.
- Israel Padilla was unstoppable in the 8-1 victory over St. Paul, allowing just a single run over 8 innings while fanning 10. His early season wobbles seem well behind him. Crawford hit 3-5 with a homer.
- Tom Hart completed the set of quality starts from each member of the rotation with 8 innings for 2 runs, 1 unearned. Earl Becker hit 3-4 and Ken James recorded his 23rd save.
