Yeah, I know that one of the biggest challenges for companies like this one are compatibility issues like this.
Think about: when you release a game for a console like the PlayStation 4, everyone has more or less the exact same hardware. Same operating system, same processor, same graphics, etc. Sure, there are slight variabilities between different models, but by and large they are the same or extremely similar.
However, when you release a game for PC, you have practically no idea what the machines will look like. Every PC can have a different operating system, different processor, different graphics card, different hard drive, different sound card, etc. There are literally endless possible permutations.
Even large development shops that release games on the PC struggle with compatibility issues. (And based on my knowledge of software and gaming, probably 90% of the compatibility issues have to do with graphics in some way.)
Now you take a small company like OOTP Dev, who maybe now is approaching 10 employees after 20 years. They simply don’t have the resources to test on a wide variety of devices. So the odds of some sort of incompatibility existing somewhere are pretty high.
It seems pretty clear that something is going on with the original posters new device and the graphical aspects of OOTP. Whether that is the games fault or the computers fault, it’s often not easy to determine. But Lucas is here now, and hopefully he can help find some solution for the poster.
