I have seen players go straight to the majors and be a starter and have seen some practically retire at end of season. One time had a trade where I didn't like him but he went to a team and turned into a solid player near HOF. Yes minor league trade was after trade deadline. From what I have seen if you get an email of a player your willing to get rid of that's in the minors that the player they want they will do what they can and might bump him up to bigs if they need him badly
