ERA leader Eppa Rixey allowed three runs (two earned) over eight innings of work, but watched Stan Musial hit a walkoff two-run shot in the 11th inning off Bob Howry as the Hitmen lost the only game on the docket today. Dave Burba threw 3 2/3 innings of scoreless, hitless relief for the Sounds, allowing only one walk. The Sounds have played 13 games above .500 since June 1st, but an 18-35 start to the season has proven insurmountable.
