June 13th-June 19th

June 13th, 2019: The Giants have acquired RF Scott Schebler from the Reds for RHP Tyler Beede. It's an even trade for both teams.

Jose Adolis Garcia extended his hit streak to 20 games today.

With the off day, we headed to Philadelphia for a three game series with the Phillies. We'd see Jerad Eickhoff (6-1, 3.41 ERA), Patrick Corbin (4-6, 4.50 ERA), and Nick Pivetta (3-5, 4.11 ERA) before another day off.

June 14th, 2019: 2nd Rounder Jared Thomas agreed to a $280,000 bonus. 4th Rounder Clint Rementer agreed to a $220,000 bonus.

Red Sox reliever Tyler Thornburg is out for the year with shoudler inflammation. He was 2-4 with a 7.01 ERA in 25.2 innings with 28 strikeouts.

The series started with Aaron Sanchez (4-3, 2.99 ERA, 0.82 WHIP) taking on Jerad Eickhoff (6-1, 3.41 ERA, 0.93 WHIP). The bats came to play, and we took the opener 8-2.

Sanchez went 8 with just 3 hits, a run, a walk, and 11 strikeouts. Miguel Castro tossed the 9th, 2 hits, a run, and a walk.

Victor Reyes was 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles, a homer, 2 runs, and 4 RBI's. Lewis Brinson was 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles, a homer, and 3 RBI's. Sanchez the pitcher was 2-for-3 with a run scored. Trey Mancini was 1-for-5 with a run scored, double, and RBI.

June 15th, 2019: We looked to extend our division lead with Erasmo Ramirez (2-3, 3.18 ERA, 1.18 WHIP) taking on Nick Pivetta (3-5, 4.11 ERA, 1.34 WHIP). It was a tight one, our three runs in the third was enough for a 3-1 win.

Erasmo Ramirez left with an oblique strain, and will head to the DL. He got the first two outs of the day.

Miguel Castro got the win, 3 innings with 2 hits, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Pedro Araujo went 2.1 innings with 2 hits, a run, and a strikeout. Joakim Soria and Boone Logan got holds while Zach Britton got a save.

Anthony Alford was 2-for-4 with a run scored and RBI. Victor Reyes was 1-for-4 with a run scored, RBI, and steal. Jose Peraza was 1-for-2 with a run scored and triple. Trey Mancini was 1-for-4 with a double and RBI.

June 16th, 2019: I recalled Lucas Sims from AAA, and he'd take a spot in our rotation.

Fan vote update: Jonathan Schoop sits at third for second base. Zach Britton sits at 4th for reliever.

Josh Smoker of the Pirates is out for the year with a damaged elbow ligament. He had a 4.11 ERA in 35 innings with 39 strikeouts.

We looked to finish off the sweep with Drew Pomeranz (3-2, 4.18 ERA, 1.39 WHIP) facing Patrick Corbin (4-6, 4.50 ERA, 1.42 WHIP). We didn't ptich well at all, and were crushed 11-6.

Pomeranz allowed 6 (5 earned) in 3 innings with 9 hits, a walk, and 5 strikeouts. Kelvin Herrera allowed 4 runs off 5 hits in the 4th inning. Booone Logan allowed a run with a hit, walk, and strikeout.

Tim Beckham was 2-for-4 with 2 runs, 2 RBI's, a triple, and a homer. Jonathan Schoop was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Anthony Alford was 1-for-3 with a hit by pitch and run scored. Jose Peraza was 1-for-4 with a run scored, RBI, and triple. Chance Sisco was 1-for-3 with a walk and run scored.

We get tomorrow off to head home.s

June 17th, 2019: I signed 5th rounder Nick Lodolo to a $150,000 bonus.

Victor Reyes was named player of the week. He hit .471 with 3 homers, 8 RBI's, and 7 runs scored.

At 39-26, we're back up to 7th in the Power Rankings.

Jose Quintana of the Cubs tossed a 5-hit shutout in a 6-0 win over the Pirates.

We have a quick two game series with the Braves, where we'd face Mike Soroka (3-7, 5.92 ERA) and Patrick Weigel (1-7, 6.16 ERA).

June 18th, 2019: Yankees LHP Jerry Blevins is out for the year with a torn ulnar collateral ligament. He had 25 strikeouts in 25 innings with a 5.04 ERA.

We opened the series with Kevin Gausman (5-4, 5.60 ERA, 1.50 WHIP) facing Mike Soroka (3-7, 5.92 ERA, 1.41 WHIP). It was a close one, but we edged them 3-2.

Gausman went 6 innings with 3 hits, 2 runs, 3 walks, and 7 strikeouts. Jake Diekman, Bryan Shaw, and Joakim Soria and Zach Britton got the save.

Chance Sisco was 2-for-3 with a double, hit by pitch, and RBI. Trey Mancini was 2-for-3 with a walk and run scored. Lewis Brinson was 1-for-4 with a run scored.

Jake Arrieta tossed a 5-hit suhhtout in a 9-0 Phillies win over the Marlins.

Garcia's hit streak was ended at 24 games.

June 19th, 2019: Jordan Zimmermann of the Tigers is out for the year with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. He was 1-3 with a 6.91 ERA and 50 strikeouts in 57.1 innings.

Nathan Eovaldi (3-3, 4.78 ERA, 1.49 WHIP) took on Luiz Gohara (3-1, 3.63 ERA, 1.35 WHIP) in the finale. We couldn't score, and lost the finale 4-1.

Eovaldi went 4.1 innings with 5 hits, 4 runs, 5 walks, and 3 strikeouts. The rest of the pen tossed 4.2 innings with a hit, walk, and 4 strikeouts.

Anthony Alford was 2-for-4 with a triple. Max Stassi was 1-for-4 with a double and run scored. Jose Iglesias was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Jonathan Schoop was 1-for-3 with a hit by pitch.

Yu Darvish tossed a 3-hit shutout in a 10-0 win over the Pirates.

Blue Jays 3B Adrian Beltre went 5-for-6 in a 16-10 loss to the Yankees, our next opponent.

In a four game series with the Yankees, we'll see Hidetsugu Nakasone (7-2, 2.38 ERA), Giovanny Gallegos (4-0, 2.64 ERA), Sonny Gray (3-6, 4.43 ERA), and Luis Severino (5-3, 4.05 ERA). We are tied with them for first, and will host this crucial series.
