Baltimore GM offers Claude Ritchey a contract (4 Mil for 3 yrs) that Baltimore couldn't afford, I entered the contract into OOTP before I noticed that Baltimore lacked the available cash, so OOTP had to notify me of this. Ritchey is traded to the Browns, Browns GM offers Ritchey 2Mil for 5 years. Ritchey says he wants the 4Mil for 3 that the Browns tried to offer him.

I didn't think that offers made by the former team would effect contract decisions for a player on his new team. Is this by design, or a bug caused by offering an extension a team can't afford?
