June 12th-June 18th
June 12th, 2026: 4th Rounder Bobby Bentivenga agreed to a $240,000 bonus and 5th Rounder Sam Pell agreed to a $190,000 bonus.
On my day off, I worked on a few possible trades. I sent an offer in, but got nothing agreed upon.
We're headed back home to host the Athletics, and we'd see Brandon Neeck (2-0, 4.23 ERA) and Nivaldo Pool (0-2, 6.98 ERA) before another off day. I hate when this is how we get our off days...
June 13th, 2026: I signed 1st Rounder Jorge Luna to a $700,000 bonus and 3rd Rounder Jon Clark to a $340,000 bonus.
We began the series with the struggling Steve Paustian (3-4, 5.23 ERA, 1.47 WHIP) facing Brandon Neeck (2-0, 4.23 ERA, 1.41 WHIP). The A's got three in the third and held us off for a 5-3 win.
Paustian went 3 innings, allowing 6 hits, 4 runs, a walk, and he struck out 4. Ignacio Hinojos allowed a run off a hit and walk in 2 innings with 4 strikeouts.
SetH Beer was 2-for-4 with a pair of solo homers. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-3 with a walk.
June 14th, 2026: 1st Rounder Joe Martin agreed to a $850,000 bonus.
We looked to win the finale to split the two game set with Mike Soroka (1-4, 4.71 ERA, 1.54 WHIP) facing Nivando Pool (0-2, 6.98 ERA, 1.65 WHIP). It was well pitched game by Soroka, and we won the finale 4-1.
Soroka went 8, allownig 4 hits and a walk, while striking out 4. Alpha Quivers got the save, striking out two in a perfect 9th.
Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-3 with a double, sac-fly, and 3 RBI's. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-4 with a double and run scored. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-4. Vlad Jr. was 1-for-4 with a run scored.
We get tomorrow off, and will head to Atlanta.
June 15th, 2026: At 36-29, we dropped a spot to 10th in the Power Rankings.
Off to Atlanta to face the Braves for a three game series. We'll see Mack Anglin (1-3, 3.67 ERA), Mashiaro Tanaka (3-5, 4.54 ERA), and former Marlin Ken Harty (2-4, 4.13 ERA).
June 16th, 2026: A pair of players saw thier seasons end. SS Brady House of the Rockies tore his posterior cruciate ligament, and Nationals SP Sonny Warner damage his elbow ligament. Both players have 4.5 potential, House 2.5/4.5 with Warner 4.5/4.5.
We opeend the series at SunTrust Park with Mack Anglin (1-3, 3.67 ERA, 1.56 WHIP) taking on Jake Florence (3-2, 3.41 ERA, 1.65 WHIP). Both pitchers have lost to the opposing team. Florence has trouble with Johnny Houghtby, like most pitchers, who is 7-for-18 with 2 homers. We got six in the 8th and won the opener 10-6.
Florence went just 4, with 6 hits, 3 runs, and 3 strikeouts. Ben Popkin allowed 3 in 1.1 innings with a hit, 5 walks, and a strikeout. Hyo-jin Yaung got his first win of the year, tossing 1.2 innings with a hit. Jorge Moya got the hold and Alpha Quivers the save.
Thomas Dillard was 3-for-5 with with two homers, 3 runs, and 3 RBI's. Seth Beer was 2-for-5 with a solo homer. Vladdy was 2-for-5 with a double, run scored, RBI, and steal. Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-3 with a steal. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-5 with 2 runs and a solo homer. Jhon Solarte was 1-for-4 with a grand slam. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with a double.
Rockies CF Mike Sandberg was 5-for-5 in an 8-7 win over the Giants.
June 17th, 2026: Jordan Montgomery's recover is now unclear. Yay...
Game two saw former Marlin Ken Harty (2-4, 4.13 ERA, 1.25 WHIP) face Devon Peterson (5-2, 4.11 ERA, 1.33 WHIP). Harty, just 25, was sent out in the Soroka trade, and man do I wish I hung on to him. He's now a 4/4.5 with absolute insane stuff. He was solid today, and we were edged 4-3.
Peterson went 4.2 innings with 6 hits, 3 runs, and 4 strikeouts. Hinojos tossed 2.1 innings with a hit and 4 strikeouts. Jorge Moya got the loss, allowing 2 hits, a run, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts, but walked Freddie Freeman with the bases loaded to end the game.
Jarred Kelenic was 2-for-4 with 2 runs and a solo homer. Vlad Jr. was 2-for-3 with a walk, double, and run scored. We only had four hits as a team. The last run came from a Seth Beer sac-fly.
White Sox RF Mason Robbins was 5-for-5 in a 10-7 win over the Blue Jays. Former Marlin Josh Weske tossed a 3-hit shutout in a 6-0 Phillies win over Arizona.
June 18th, 2026: Fan vote update: Thomas Dillard is second at catcher. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. ranks second at third base. Alpha Quivers ranks fourth for relievers.
Marc Bjork (1-0, 4.72 ERA, 0.97 WHIP) returned to the rotation against Mashiaro Tanaka (3-5, 4.54 ERA, 1.20 WHIP). We got three in the 9th, but still fell 5-3 as we continue a rough patch.
Bjork allowed 5 in 4 innings with 6 hits. The rest of the pen pitched 4 innings with a hit, 3 walks, and 4 strikeouts.
Kelenic was 2-for-4 with a double and two run homer. Junior was 1-for-4 with a double and run scored. Jhon Solarte was 1-for-2 with a walk.
Padres C Edilberto Mendoza was 5-for-5 in a 6-5 win over the Brewers.
We're headed home to face the first place Nationals for three games. We'll see Hunter Wood, Cole Ragans (4-5, 3.48 ERA), and Jhon Vergara (4-3, 4.30 ERA) as we need to get back on track.
I'm a little worried about the team, but I don't want to make drastic moves. Yet...
