With top prospects I also force start them. Takes longer but it's more exact. Plus I can get multiple positions learned.

I usually draft best player available too so I can get clogged up at certain positions. I remember being heavy on 2b's they could play SS and 3rd and 1st but not as good as 2nd. And if there are like 3 of them at same level they might not all start left up to the AI.

Especially when they haven't started to learn a defense position yet. Sometimes they can even play outfield.

So yea I lock everyone and force start them. Then monitor all year. It just takes so much time.

I would manually control all minors if that didn't even take longer because of injuries. So many injuries
