Another month gone and we get to see how our future stars are doing.
Kelford Clark has had an excellent month in the Florida League with the Lakeland Flying Tigers. He has 6 starts and racked up a 5-1 record during the month. His ERA is down at 1.43 and he is averaging 6 strike outs a game while allowing no more than 6 hits and 2 or 3 runs a game. This strong work saw him voted the FSL Pitcher of the month above other more experienced players.
Donnie Green has been slowly improving in July. He played 27 games during July and posted a batting average of .253. The last day of the month saw him have a break out game as he struck 6 hits from 7 at bats in the GCL Philadelphia West's win over the Yankees East.
Juan Campos has had a tough start in the Mexican league after his call up to the first team. He has played in 16 games for the Diablos but is batting at .148 for his average this year after going cold towards the end of the month.
Gabriel Eskola has been finding things tough in the North West League with the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes. He suffered the twisted ankle which hindered his play. This limited him to 18 games only. He also went through a cold patch once he returned from the injury. This has meant his batting average is down at .192 for July.
Dan Hurt has been the hot bat from the players that are currently in action. His July with both the GCLPhiladelphia West and GCL Philadelphia East teams has seen him hitting at an average of .383. This form could see him moved up if he keeps it up.
After joining the Colorado Rockies we have finally seen Billy Edwards get some playing time. He has spent the month of July with the Dominican Rockies and has managed to bat at an average of .263 from 15 games. Hopefully there will be more to come from Billy.
