yes, indeedy! Ye cannot back-up too often.
i lost 50 yrs once. not that i didn't back-up, but i couldn't figure out how to restore! (yes, i had my dunce cap on too tightly!) Once i figured it out, needless to say, i backup after every session. And i "save game" within playing (simming really) after every few game days or so. Since i started this over-kill, i've never lost more than a month of play, and that was when i didn't follow my own rules and made a major "oooppps" and didn't catch it right away.
Back-ups are a wonderful thing to be certain.

PS - what part of the "California Republic" are you from? i grew up in the Monterey Bay area, but haven't been back since '72, except for funerals ....
