Probably the worst franchise in the IPA... one winning season in the last 14... no playoffs for almost 20 years... brand-new manager Pat Kovacs had a terrible rookie season coming in dead last in the division... he's a Hall-of-Famer with a 308-228 mark and a fine 2.84 career ERA... Kovacs is 6th on the all-time strikeout list with 4179... set the all-time season record in '28 with 391 Ks...Kovacs has a tough row to hoe... not a lot of talent in La Claire.
Team Stats: .256 BA (20th), 610 runs (29th), 148 HR (18th), 3.96 ERA (21st), .976 FA (average)
Top Players: not a bad staff... there are a couple good starters in Tommy Trantham and Kelly Hudgins... #3 and #4 Kellen Debussy and Hank Raborn show some promise... but, there's nothing in the bullpen... at the plate, there are lots of fair hitters with good potential... Horace Rutherford, Derek Winchester, Taro Lansing, Sean McEuen and Kippy Born could have breakout years... just hasn't happened so far... Charlie Rodgers had a great All-Star year in '56 with a .339 BA, 31 roundtrippers and 109 RBI, but he dropped off this year... the Lynx could have a lot of new faces this year.
