4th Place: Bayview Vikings (84-70) (10.5 GB)
Last Year: (72-82) (24.5 GB) (8th Place)
Two Years Ago: (67-87) (32 GB) (7th Place)
Last Postseason: 2016 (No Pro Cups) (6 Pennants)

After years of bottom of the barrel existence Bayview jumped up to fourth in the standings, mainly with much-improved pitching... prior to this season you have to go back to '44 for a .500 finish... during that dozen years it was mainly 7th and 8th finishes... last playoff appearance was long ago in 2016... all-time IPA home-run hitter, Jerry Culpepper, came on board as skipper in '55 and has turned things around... in his 19-year career with the Vikings, Culpepper hit 60 or more homers five times and ended up with 878 roundtrippers... Bayview has pretty darn good pitching considering they play in a "home-run heaven"... the offense is good... and defense is average... the Vikings are hoping to move up with the big boys, Denton City and Rolling Hills... right now they have a big talent gap to close.

Team Stats: .253 BA (25th), 716 runs (11th), 193 HR (5th-tied), 3.82 ERA (16th), .978 FA (average)

Top Players: Bayview has a quality rotation with Perot, Konigsen and Rasmussen... and Dycus is a fairly good closer... Byorn Karlsen at third base does it all... a gifted ballplayer... one of the best in the IPA... the Viks just need a few more good ones to go with him... Culpepper just worked a trade with Kenwood... he picked up a fine hitter in T. D. Proudfoot (.331 BA/12 HR/35 RBI/48 G), along with a young starter James Farnham for three players: pitchers Herm Monday (18-14/3.98), Rick Richard (2-3/4.11 ERA/54 G) and up-and-coming rookie OF Jorgen Ostergaard (.265 BA/15 HR/55 RBI/116 G)… on paper, it looks like a good trade for both clubs.
