Bringing Back Baltimore
For those of you that have read by "Fixing The Marlins" series, you would know that the Marlins have been "fixed" and I am starting a new project: Bringing Back Baltimore! (I really like the alliteration). For this world, I will be attempting to bring Baltimore back to the World Series.
This will follow the same format as my Marlins dynasty, and hopefully read better because I have more experience writing, and have an easy format.
I'm using the Opening Day rosters, so the rsoters will be a little differnet then from my Marlins game, with full minors, but not international or independent leagues to keep the file size down a bit. All the affiliations are the same, so I have AAA Norfolk, AA Bowie, A+ Frederick, A Delmarva, A- Aberdeen, R Baltimore GCL, and R Batimore DSL. The roster limits are as followed; AAA, AA, A+, A: 26; A-: 30, R: 40 (DSL is 35 with only Dominican's allowed).
Next come the player settings. I have injuries set on High (current day settings) with the occasional delayed diagnosis. Suspensions are on low and if drug suspensions occur, I will add an injury "Suspension" for 100 days so teams can remove them from their active roster like in real life, since OOTP does not has a restricted list. Other then that, most of the settings are the same as the default.
Ratings are on a 1-100 scale, with stars as the overall rating. Scouts are turned on and so are coaches. Owner goals are turned off.
The Amateur Pool will be 40 rounds like in real life, with 60 rounds worth of players created (to start with). I'm guessing the first year will be 35 like how it was with my Marlins dynasty. Later on, I will do what I started in my Marlins franchise with players that don't sign, and possibly expanding the draft pool. The pool is 93.97% American, 3.52% Puerto Rican, and 2.51% Canadian (0% Random).
I turned off Independent League Free Agents, but International Established Free Agents are set to default (10 per year), International Amateur Free Agents are set to more (60 per year), International Scouting Discoveries are set to default (11 per team, per year), and the International Amateur system uses a hard cap of $5,000,000. All the international player settings are kept on default.
Financials are kept the same, but inflation is set from 2%-4% each year and automatic evolution of league is turned off. Legacy Mode is also turned on, but the lineups will still be left to my manager. League Evolution is turned off. Everything else is kept at default, but can change at some point.
I'll start with a brief introduction later tonight or tomorrow, bringing us to Opening Day and giving a brief rundown of the team and system!
The process so far:
2018: 79-83, (.488), 4th, 13 GB
2019: 92-70, .568, 2nd, 5 GB: WON WORLD SERIES AGAINST CHICAGO!
