Requesting Tips for Texas
I’m about 70 some years into my sim, so I’m good with most of the basics. I wanted to shake things up a bit and took a new job with the Rangers as GM. I’m finding it difficult to get consistency out of my pitching staff (but boy can my boys mash). I’ve focused on 3.5 Star plus starters, at least 55 movement, mix of righties and lefties, all with GB ratio of 50+. Great defense skills for my infield. Prior to the defense improvements they were bad. They then had a full season where they lead the league in era and runs allowed, but then I brought back essentially the same team, but moved a defensive CF for a better offense CF and the staff went into the tank. I’m sitting in the bottom 20% in ERA and runs allowed and the BABIP for each starter is at .350+. Is a defensive downgrade at CF really killing my staff that bad? Any tips for building a staff that can survive Texas without elite fielding?
