1961 MLB Expansion Draft Choices

The 1961 expansion draft for this dynasty was one of the weakest I had ever seen in OOTP.
Both the Mets and the Colt 45s really did not have much to choose from.
By using ratings and last year's stats, I felt I put together the best team I could with what the other teams gave us.
Gus Triandos at C made sense and Russ Nixon will back him up.
Taking a has-been Stan Musial might put people in the seats.
Gordy Coleman was a logical choice for a backup at first base.
Bobby Richardson and Johnny Temple I liked for both to play 2B.
Luis Aparicio was a no-brainer.
If I had not taken Donn Clendenon, I would not be a Mets fan!
On the mound, I feel I could get some good innings out of Johnny Podres and Bob Shaw.
Don McMahon will be the stopper with Ryne Duren, Frank Sullivan and Frank Baumann rounding out the bullpen.
You can see who is on the reserve roster to fill out the rest of the franchise.

I am going to skip the awards and HOF announcements for 1961.
Tomorrow:
The MLB 1961 First-Year Player Draft to fill out our minor leagues.
