The interesting question here is what is the typical number of batters faced by MLB pitchers these days during the season? And how does that compare to pitchers at the various level of minor leagues?

When the 2018 season is over I will have the box scores necessary to do such an analysis: I will have saved the box score for every MLB game as well as every game in the minors, from Triple-A down to the AZL and GCL in Rookie ball, and also for the Mexican League and the four main independent leagues.

(In terms of pitch counts, MLB box score and the box scores for the full-season minor leagues include pitch counts for each pitcher used. So it will be possible to look at average pitches thrown by each pitcher spot used during the season as well.)
