January 1st, 1874 - The Elizabeth Resolutes and the Washington Blue Legs have joined to Baltimore Marylands on the list of teams that will not be returning next season. Two new teams, the Hartford Dark Blues, and the Chicago White Stockings (finally recovered from the Great Chicago Fire) will be joining the league, bringing the league total to eight.
