Montreal 5 New York 2
For the 2nd game in a row, it took a 3-run HR from rookie CF
Alex Gomez to make the difference. This time instead of waiting for a walk-off in the 9th, he got the job done in the 8th. Gomez is now hitting .278 with 2 HRs and 6 RBIs in 11 games. Last year Gomez was in AA for the Expos where he hit .317 with 5 HRs and 27 RBIs in 58 games. It looks like Gomez could be a regular with the Expos in 1979.
Expos RHP
Dave Frame gets the win for his work in the 7th, he is now 1-0 for Montreal. Expos brought in CL
Aidan Beasley for the 9th and he faced the minimum for his 28th save.
Montreal goes into the post season with a 4-game win streak.
