The Cardinals completed a four-game win streak against the Pittsburgh Pirates, to extend their lead over the Washington Nationals to 3.5 games for the second NL wild card. They trail wild-card leader Arizona by 2.
But up next is a tough test, as they remain at home to face the NL West Division leading Los Angeles Dodgers in a four-game series.
