W: Keller 1-0, 5.82. L: Cecil 1-1, 3.76. Sv: Smoker 2, 5.89. HR: Polanco 21.
Player of the game: The Pirates' Gregory Polanco was 1 for 3 with a homer -- a two-run shot in the fifth inning off Brett Cecil which gave the Bucs a 5-3 lead -- and three RBIs.
Note: Cardinals infielder/outfielder Jose Martinez had to leave the game after suffering a mild hip strain while running the bases in the third inning.He is expected to be day-to-day for three days.
