Real life Sidenote: Today's game between the Marlins and the Braves will feature Caleb Smith and Mike Foltynewicz. In my dynasty, Smith never pitched in the majors, so I won't see one of my players pitch in person tonight...

It sucked losing the Wild Card game, but it's back to work as we look to acquire talent that will put us over the hump. I'm no longer satisfied with just making the playoffs, we have to win the East. And unlike the first two Marlins playoff teams, there will be no teardown. These Marlins may be fixed, but my work is far from finished...

I got my new budget, $122,000,000, but it's still 28th in the league. I've got a bit more then $12 million for free agents. That'll buy me a back up catcher and a right handed reliever...

The Angels fired Mike Scioscia, who has been with the club since 2000. I offered him a contract to be my GCL manager. I also promoted AAA Hitting Coach Dave Magadan to become my hitting coach, after letting Mike Pagiularo's contract expire. Magadan is rated as "excellent" and New orleans hit .289 last season, with Mountcastle and more looking amazing at the plate.

I extended qualifying offers to Danny Duffy and Zach Davies. I'm hoping both decilne, as I want the draft pick and the qualifying offer of $17.2 million is a lot to handle.

November 5th, 2021: Detroit claimed Cam Bedrosian, so I was off the hook for his salary. Every penny counts, as 3 million dollars were now able to be better allocated.

November 6th, 2021: The Phillies traded CF Odubel Herrera to the Indians for LHP Hunter Barco. I guess the Phillies wanted to shave salary, as the prospect Barco is not really that intriguing. He's not bad, but not worth Herrera.

November 10th, 2021: I remembered to switch the Natoinals and Mets AAA teams. The Syracuse Chiefs became the Mets AAA team and the Las Vegas 51s became the Nationals affiliate.

Andrelton Simmons was also awared his 7th Gold Glove at shortstop.

November 11th, 2021: Yasukazu Shiotani was awared 4 points in the Reliever of the Year race.

November 13th, 2021: Texas SS Anderson A. Teheda and Mets SP Luis Marrero were named Rookie of the Year.

November 14th, 2021: Astros A.J. Hinch and Dodgers Dave Roberts were namend Manager of the Year. Not sure how Mattingly didn't win Manager of the Year...

November 15th, 2021: Tampa's Brent Honeywell and Mets Luis Marrero were named Cy Young Award Winners.

November 16th, 2021: Houston's SS Carlos Correa and Los Angeles' 1B Cody Bellinger won MVP. Andrelton Simmons finished 6th win 107 points and both Lewis Brinson (8) and Zach Davies (1) finished much farther back.

November 24th, 2021: Zach Davies announced he was filing for free agency, but Danny Duffy accepted the qualifying offer. I instantly placed him on the trading block, and hopefully I'd be able to move him. Worst case, he'll spend another season in the rotation.
