Advancing from second on ground balls to the left side
I've noticed this happens pretty often, and I found it interesting. I quite frequently see balls to 3B or SS and the runner on second just strolls right by him to third.
I'm not saying it is wrong, mind you. Maybe the OOTP guys have data on how often this happens. It could also be that the 3D representation isn't accurately conveying special situations like having to charge a slow roller, or the guy on second getting a particularly good jump.
It definitely goes against "standard baseball wisdom" that you need to hit the ball to the right side to advance the runner from second. This is what nearly all other baseball games use, which of course doesn't mean it is right, but definitely makes it stand out.
Unfortunately my attempts to find stats on how often this happens in real baseball were not fruitful.
