The Yankees win the AL with a big September getting by Detroit. In the NL with 5 games left in the regular season the top 4 teams Dodgers, Giants, Pirates and Braves were separated by just 1 game. The Milwaukee Braves prevail and go to their first World Series since 1914.

The home team wins every game as the Yankees take game 6 and 7 for their 2nd in a row.
