I'm a microtransactions refugee.
I happily paid full retail for this game to support its independent developers, and part of the reason is hoping that such support will allow them to keep making a quality product without the game-destroying rot that microtransactions cause.
My main issue with it isn't even what most people complain about -- the fact that some people have an advantage over others. It's the way the transactions distort the entire game development process by inevitably warping the developers' priorities as extracting money becomes more and more of a focus. My comment referenced one of the many ways this happens. Because as soon as there are microtransactions, people actually DO have a reason to wonder if the deck is stacked -- because it often is.
Once a dev team heads in this direction it just gets worse over time.. I joke that it's like entering the event horizon of a black hole, just a matter of time before you are fully sucked in. Hopefully OOTP stays a safe distance away.
