always forget about challenge mode. in challenge mode the 1-year check would definitely be fair to the player... althugh if budget is set already and he dies mid-year i don't think that changes the budget eh?

wouldn't think so. this wasn't a death, owner sold (IIRC) in offseason.
left me with an owner immediately overpaying aging players without my input & taking full control of all budgets.
will be interesting to see how much I can take.
