If slow loading was a problem the boards would have exploded with posts about it. Must be something on your end? Are you running as admin? Other programs conflicting?
Maybe post your system, memory, graphics, etc. for those that might be able so help?

Sweed, you are absolutely right that a slow load would have blown up the boards. I thought that myself, but then I thought that maybe it is just running slow as it goes through initial tasks that would be eliminated once I purchased the license key.
I am also glad you included info about the trial offer. Usually I buy the game without hesitation, but I remember a few versions ago you could play up to a half season or maybe even a full season and then have to buy to continue, so I assumed that was still the case. Knowing that it is not is good so I can stop focusing on that aspect.
Did my situation happen to anyone else? I'd like more thoughts before I start looking at my machine's hardware because I am not very computer savvy.
