Arbitration, Awards, and Pre-Free Agency

I'd explain all the moves I'd make before free agents filed. My season score this year was 471, supposedly an average score, so an improvement over last year for sure. My contract even got extended for 2 years and $550,000. I had a lot of personell options to fill up as well, as a lot of my minor league guys filed.

The Royals owner David Glass soled the team to Brad Darrar, a note technologist.

The Orioles fired their interim GM former big leaguer Sean Henn. I remember him from old MLB the show games. The Cardinals fired their GM Michael Girsch.

Team Options: Brad Brach had a $3,800,000 option with a $1,000,000 buyout, easy execution as Brach would be back.

Arbitration Players
SP Cody Anderson ($834,000)
SP Brad Peacock (Was demanding over $9 million, but I couldn't trade him, claimed by Colorado)
RP Kyle Barraclough ($878,000)
RP Kevin Chapman ($1,670,000)
RP Mychal Givens ($1,050,000)
RP Heath Hembree (Non-Tendered)
C Jett Bandy ($4,660,000)
1B Ryon Healy (Waived, claimed by San Diego)
3B Miguel Rojas (Non-Tendered)
SS Tyler Saladino ($984,000)
LF Charlie Tilson (Headed to Arbitration, offered $880,000. We won, as he demanded $1,450,000)

Upcoming Free Agents
1B Joe Mauer (Released)
RP Jake Diekman (Filed for Free Agency)
RP David Phelps (Signed 2-year, $2,600,000 with the last year a team option with a small buyout).
SS Adeiny Hechavarria (Filed for Free Agency)

Collin McHugh won another Gold Glove this season.

Reliever of the Year Award: Ediwn Diaz (SEA) and Zach Britton (LAD). Brach was 2nd, but Britton had 39 saves and a 0.94 ERA and 0.91 WHIP.

Rookie of the Year: Luis Valquez (TOR) and Brendan Rogers (COL). Lewis Brinson came in 2nd, but Rogers won unanimously.

Cy Young: Luis Servino (NYY) and Aaron Nola (PHI). Brach came in 5th.

Most Valuable Player: Francisco Lindor (CLE) and Cody Bellinger (LAD).

I'd move on to Free Agents next!
