Here is the premise for my new dynasty:
The year was 1916 and the U.S. was very close to entering World War I, the Summer Olympics were cancelled and Major League Baseball was shut down and disbanded. This included all affiliated minor league teams.
Now, 30 years later, and in the aftermath of World War I, the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl and World War II, baseball fans across the country yearned for the great American pastime, baseball. They got their wish when Major League Baseball was resumed in 1946. Baseball gurus agreed to start fresh, with new statistics and history.
This will be random debut historical MLB league with an inaugural draft date of January 1946. I have come up with this name, 1946: MLB Revitalized.
In addition to random Major League players as selected by the game each year, I am manually drafting players from the below listed sources. Any player that only had a short MLB career, like Satchel Paige, will be eligible to be randomly selected. So, Paige, for instance, will be drafted as a young man. Maybe he will have a real impact on the game. Without the color barrier, he would have played 20 to 25 years in the big leagues.
