While Ben Morgan is signed through 2077 I decided to make a clean break and trade Morgan along with shortstop Jorge Castro, right fielder Ed Garza, SP Preston Walls, and Ray DeWeese to the Marlins in exchange for 25 year old centerfielder Shawn Spears.

Spears is one of the top prospects in baseball and is hitting .300 since being recalled to the majors. He's a piece to build around I hope.

It's a big trade, but combined with the Zach Duke trade we essentially are throwing in the towel and starting fresh.
