But when I go back to check that my settings have been retained in these teams' lineups, I find that sometimes they have reverted back to having the pitcher bat 8th. That's because the AI is managing the team. Game > Game Settings > League Settings > Functions > Roster Functions
Press both "Set all teams to not allow AI roster changes" and "Set all teams to controlled by (Your Name)". I've never actually tried it, but I think it should work.
