For those interested in creating the European Cup for Euro Teams, this is the thread to look for!

I'd recommend bookmarking this as I will update this as much as humanly possible. This is to try to come as close as possible to creating the exact European Champions Cup club tournament (similar to UEFA Champions League for soccer fans) format.

If you would like to see who is representing the proper formats, post #2 will have the group pairings. I'll work on creating the actual schedule this week.

*GAME NOTE*: A club can ONLY be a member of one tournament at a time. You will have to remove the team from that specific tournament after it finishes if you want to add it to another one!

The European Cup now has four levels:
-European Champions Cup, known as the Champions Cup (Tier 1)
-CEB Cup (Tier 2, We will call it the European Cup)
-Federations Cup (Tier 3)
-Federations Cup Qualifiers

*NOTE*: Due to playing in the IBL, T&A San Marino is in Tier 1. If they occupy first or second in the IBL, then third place in the league takes the IBL bid. SM is the only club locked in to play at any level.

Tier 1:
-Qualifiers are:
Split into two pools, four teams in each pool, round robin over three days.
  • Honkbal Champions
  • Scudetto Series Champion
  • 2nd Place in both Honkbal and the IBL
  • T&A San Marino (San Marino rep)
  • Baseball-Bundesliga Champions (Germany)
  • French Division I Champions
  • Czech Champions
Honkbal Champions
-Split into two pools, four teams in each pool, round robin over three days.
Semifinals: Pool B 2nd Place vs. Pool A Winner, Pool A 2nd Place vs. Pool B Winner
Final: Semifinal Winners

-Relegation of last place league/team to CEB (Tier 2)
-Promotion of league champion of CEB

at Rotterdam, Netherlands: June 6-10, 2018

  • BLA 2nd Place (Austria)
--Pool 2
-Qualifiers

Semifinal: Pool A 2nd Place vs. Pool A Winner
Pool B 2nd Place vs. Pool B Winner
Semifinal Winners Advance
Final: Semifinal Winners (NOTE: No Technical Final in the FCQ)

How Promotion/Relegation works: If a team has multiple bids in a tier, the 2nd place tier gets relegated or the League Champion spot gets promoted.

Example: 2017 Champions Cup. A German team was relegated, so therefore the league champion is in the Champions Cup while the 2nd place team is in the European Cup.

Q: What if the German team in the Champions Cup is relegated to CEB and the German team in CEB wins to advance for the Champions Cup?
A: Nothing. The leagues stabilize with the same format.

If you want to avoid the whole tiered level thing, here would be how to set it up based upon berths:
  • Honkbal: 2 (Honkbal Series Winner and Regular Season Champion; 2nd place if RS Champion wins both)
  • Italian Serie 1A: 3 (T&A San Marino, Scudetto Winner, plus RS Champion; 2nd place if RS winner wins Scudetto, 2nd place if SM places in either, 2nd and 3rd if San Marino RS Champion and Scudetto winner)
  • Baseball-Bundesliga: 2
  • French Division I: 2
  • 1 Division Baseball: 2
  • Nationalliga A: 2
  • Baseball League Austria: 2
  • Division de Honor: 2
  • National Baseball League: 2
  • Czech League: 2
  • Belarusian League: 2
  • Croatian League: 2
  • Ukrainian League: 1
  • Slovak League: 1
  • Swedish League: 2
  • Polish League: 2
  • Serbian League: 1
  • Romanian League: 1
  • Bulgarian League: 2
  • Lithuanian League: 1
  • Georgian League: 1
