I should probably get to the next batch of teams now and the players I have currently picked as possible members of their potential 40-man rosters here, along with other related details for them, I think. We left off with the Cardinals, if memory serves, so it's evidently time to move on to the teams I've chosen for the Continental League in my current planned setup for my Baseball Heaven project.
The next team to be revealed here in this thread is therefore the Arizona Diamondbacks, and they would preferably be under the management of Bob Brenly, who may also find himself as a playing manager here. They would probably play in some version of Bank One Ballpark, I think, if at all possible, at least at first. Now here is where some things start to really get interesting, for at least a few teams in my planned overall setup, seeing as the known history of the Arizona Diamondbacks, for example, isn't quite as long as the franchise histories of many other teams in MLB history, at least. And possibly also for at least a few other reasons possibly already mentioned earlier in the thread, of course, at that.
Arizona Diamondbacks:
Brian Anderson
Jay Bell
Roger Bresnahan
John Clarkson
Josh Collmeter
Patrick Corbin
Craig Counsell
Babe Dahlgren
Daisy Davis (Another HoF'er, I believe, in one of my saved games)
Buck Ewing
Steve Finley
Elmer Flick
Paul Goldschmidt
Luis Gonzalez
Tim Keefe
Ian Kennedy
Byung-hyun Kim
Buck Leonard
Denny Lyons
A.J. Pollock
Mark Reynolds
Jack Rothrock
Jose Valverde
Bobby Wallace
John Ward
Brandon Webb
Dick Woodson
Ross Youngs
Brad Ziegler
Heinie Zimmerman
Al Bumbry
Tom Nieto
Tom Candiotti
Bill Scherrer
Ty Waller
Sam Horn
Bill Schroeder
Curt WIlkerson
Salome Barajas
Bob Brenly
Next up, the California Angels, who would preferably be under the management of Gene Mauch, who may or may not also be a playing manager here, at some point, if not immediately. I'm thinking that perhaps some version of Angel Stadium might be best for them to play their home games in, at least at first, of course.
California Angels:
Don Aase
Garrett Anderson
Bob Boone
Rod Carew
Dean Chance
Doug DeCinces
Jim Edmonds
Jim Fregosi
Darin Erstad
Chuck Finley
Troy Glaus
Bobby Grich
Wally Joyner
Howie Kendrick
Adam Kennedy
John Lackey
Mark Langston
Peanuts Lowrey
Ken McBride
Kirk McCaskill
Troy Percival
Buck Rodgers
Tim Salmon
Scott Schoeneweis
Dick Schofield (Jr.?)
Scot Shields
Chick Stahl
Jered Weaver
Mike Witt
Pat Tabler
Bob Walk
Reid Nichols
Jim Slaton
Bo Jackson
Andy Van Slyke
Doug Bair
Fred Lynn
Tom Foley
Julio Franco
Possibly Gene Mauch, among others, might perhaps contend for a spot, depending on who the Angels might sign after enough free agents have been created, et cetera, for teams to sign later. I still have a lot more players to add, either to the draft pool or free agency pool before this project will be able to be completed, I'm quite sure. Other teams will likely need to sign others to contend for spots on the appropriate rosters as well, of course, everyone.
Next up, the Colorado Rockies, preferably under the management of Clint Hurdle, who also may end up being a player-manager at some point for them, in truth. I see them perhaps playing their home games either in some version of Coors Field or Mile High Stadium, if possible, at least at first. We will see at least two, if not at least three, Negro League players on this potential roster, I believe, and perhaps at least one player who may have possibly made the Hall of Fame in that other saved game of mine, come to think of it, folks. Or may eventually make it, depending on their final numbers, whether they're retired yet or not, that is.
Colorado Rockies:
Nolan Arenado
Pedro Astacio
Garrett Atkins
Clint Barmes
Ginger Beaumont
Dante Bichette
Vinnie Castilla
Aaron Cook
Jorge de la Rosa

Nick Hundley
Jason Jennings
Jose Jimenez
Ubaldo Jimenez
D.J. LeMahieu
Curt Leskanic
Lefty Marr
Huston Street
Troy Tulowitzki
Todd Walker
Jamey Wright
Dan Meyer
Kelly Gruber
Marvell Wynne
Tony Bernazard
Mike Aldrete
Candy Maldonado
Jose DeLeon
Joe Sambito
George Vukovich
Kurt Stillwell
Possibly also Clint Hurdle, among others, may contend for a spot, depending on who the Rockies may end up with in time by the time Spring Training finally begins in 1901 for them, at least.
Next up, the Houston Colt .45's/Astros, preferably under the management of Phil Garner, who may or may not also be a player-manager for them at some point in time, if not immediately, and probably perhaps in either some version of Enron/Minute Maid or the Astrodome, if possible, at least at first. They will begin as the Colt .45's, seeing as the starting year of this setup would be 1901, after all. But I envision them seriously considering changing their name to the Astros decades later, when it is more logical for them to be called the Astros, of course.
Houston Colt .45's/Astros:
Jose Altuve
Brad Ausmus
Jeff Bagwell
Kevin Bass
Lance Berkman
Craig Biggio

Bill Doran
Ken Forsch
Darryl Kile
Bob Knepper
Brad Lidge
Johnny Lucadello
Roger Metzger
Joe Niekro
Roy Oswalt
Doug Rader
J.R. Richard
Nolan Ryan (Could've put him on the Angels or Rangers, of course, but chose here)
Mike Scott
Billy Wagner
Rynie Wolters (Actually born in the Netherlands, but OOTP has him as American-born)
Craig Reynolds
Shane Reynolds
Frank DiPino
Joe Amalfitano
John Curtis
Lenny Dykstra
Bo Diaz
Ed Whitson
Rene Gonzales
Enos Cabell
Ted Power
Joe Ferguson
Possibly Phil Garner may also contend for a spot, but that depends on what other players the Colt .45's/Astros may ultimately also have in their organization, of course, at some later point, et cetera, folks.
Next up, the Kansas City Royals, preferably under the management of Dick Howser, and probably playing in some version of Kauffman/Royals Stadium, if at all possible, at least at first, I think.
Kansas City Royals:
Kevin Appier
Carlos Beltran
George Brett
Alcides Escobar
Alex Gordon
Zack Greinke
Mark Gubicza
Larry Gura

Frank McCarton (Another HoF'er in my other game, I believe)
Hal McRae
Jeff Montgomery
Mike Moustakas
Amos Otis
Freddie Patek
Darrell Porter (Another lost Cardinal, but fits better with KC than STL, due to space)
Jamie Quirk (See comment for Porter)
Dan Quisenberry (Another former Cardinal, but best known with KC pre-STL time)
Cookie Rojas
Bret Saberhagen
Joakim Soria
Paul Splittorff
Mike Sweeney (Former Cardinal, I believe, but better known for KC years)

Rich Yett
Dan Spillner
Jeff Robinson
Luis Leal
Len Matuszek
Rob Deer

Andy Ashby
Oscar Charleston (Yes, that Oscar Charleston)
Brian Giles
Marcus Giles
Adrian Gonzalez
Goose Gossage (No room for him on the Yankees, at least, so here he is)
Luke Gregerson
Tony Gwynn (Sr.) (Can't have a real Padres all-time team w/o him, Mr. Padre, for sure)
Chick Hafey
Chase Headley
Trevor Hoffman
Bruce Hurst
Judy Johnson (Yep, another Negro League player)
Randy Jones
High Pockets Kelly
Terry Kennedy
Craig Lefferts
Rowland Office
Akinori Otsuka
Jake Peavy
Al Pratt (Another HoF'er)
Bip Roberts
Dave Roberts
Benito Santiago
Eric Show
Garry Templeton
Bobby Tolan
Dave Winfield
chuck Rainey
Ken Singleton
Ray Searage
John Moses
Wayne Gross
Gary Roenicke
Mark Clear
Leon Roberts
Bucky Dent
Next up, the Seattle Mariners, preferably under the management of Lou Piniella, although it still remains to be seen whether he'll perhaps be a playing manager for them at some point, I think. They'll likely be playing either in some version of the Kingdome or Safeco Field, if possible, at least at first.
Seattle Mariners:
Yuniesky Betancourt
Phil Bradley
Jay Buhner
Dick Burns
Robinson Cano
Alvin Davis
Ken Griffey (Sr.)

Dan Wilson
Mike Zunino
Ryan Franklin
Freddy Garcia
Garry Maddox
Billy Hatcher
Dave Stegman
Al Pulido
Mike Loynd
Keith Hughes
Enrique Romo
Jose Guzman
Gary Gray
Randy Myers
Possibly Lou Piniella, among others, may also contend for roster spots with Seattle, et cetera, if certain things might happen later, folks, for them, Seattle and/or certain other teams here, I think.
And now to the likely last team I'll mainly talk about here in this post, at least, I think. That team is the Texas Rangers, and they'd preferably be under the management of Ron Washington, who may or may not eventually be a playing manager for them as well, at some point, if not immediately. And I'm not yet sure just what park might be most appropriate for them to play in from their now-long history in Texas after having moved from Washington, D.C., in the 1970's, IIRC. So any reasonable enough suggestions that you may perhaps have for them and their potential home park, at least at first, would be most appreciated, of course, I'm quite sure.
Texas Rangers:
Elvis Andrus
Buddy Bell
Adrian Beltre
Rocky Bridges
Kevin Brown
Snipe Conley
Chuck Cottier
Yu Darvish
Bill Foster (Yep, one of the players I was having trouble importing into what's now BH)

Colby Lewis
Heinie Manush

Michael Young
Jeff Cornell
Vic Mata
Danny Darwin
Joe Cowley
Jose Nunez
Terry Bross
John Cangelosi
Jim Wright
Brent Gaff
Jimmy Key
See above comment related to Ron Washington, at least, folks, for more information, at least when it comes to him here. Other potential contenders for roster spots are yet to be discovered and/or determined, of course, at least at this point.
I will try to have the next eight teams' potential rosters posted by sometime on Wednesday, at the very latest, but we'll all have to see about that, of course. Hopefully, by sometime tomorrow, though, I'll actually have them posted easily enough here, starting with the potential roster for the Federal League's Chicago Whales, folks.
As always, folks, I will gladly await all of your potential responses to this and various other possible posts in this thread just as patiently as I possibly can. But for now, I'll close this post here, at least, then. CD out.
