So here goes... the OOTPB Gospel from EC:

OOTPB is not a perfect game... it still has a lot of imperfections for all of us... but in my opinion, Markus has designed MY "Perfect Dream Baseball Game".

OOTP18 was outstanding despite the fact that I couldn't do my Southern Association Dynasty replay the way I wanted to do it... and it could be that it could be done, but I am pretty limited in computer skills and had to do it the old-fashioned manual way to make sure rosters were accurate for the 1948 season.

Also, though the game recaps could have been designed and written better... and with more variations... they repeat the same recap over and over and over....... that's why I write all of my recaps manually... problem solved.

Also the PBP has too many web gems and is not realistic IMHO... but you know I could probably edit the PBP to my liking if I had the computer skills to do it... perhaps that would solve my problem.

And the Graphics and Sound don't come close to my required perfectionism... so I just don't use them until the day comes when Markus and the crew "perfect" them... and they will one day.

But you know what I do... I accept the game's minor imperfections because OVERALL it is truly a magnificent achievement... and one day when the graphics and sound are more realistic... IT WILL BE THE BEST BASEBALL GAME OF ALL-TIME.

I have played OOTPB since version 3... and I would have gladly paid $100 each year for the pleasure that I get from the game.

Currently it costs me 10 CENTS A DAY for one of the greatest enjoyment of my life... at $100 a year that would only be .2749726 CENTS A DAY... and still a HUGE BARGAIN.

I still buy OOTPB each year... even if I didn't use it for some reason... which usually was caused by my own lack of computer knowledge... and not a shortcoming of the game itself.

The game has gotten better to some extent every single, solitary year.

And I will continue to buy OOTPB each year at the FULL PRICE, not at a discount... just to help Markus and the crew out a little bitty bit more.
Hear, hear! If something doesn't work the way you want it to, find a way to make it work, or copy someone else who has made it work, or adjust the way you play a little bit. All of us have probably had to bend the way we play a little bit due to the limitations of the game. What makes you so special that you don't have to?

It's so easy to sit back and fire critical potshots at a very good (but not perfect, because no game is) game. By all means offer up constructive criticism for Markus and the team to tackle and perhaps get right one day, but sitting back and saying "this game sucks...you're not getting my money Pffft!" is kind of lame if you ask me.

In historical games, expansion teams get a seat at the draft table the year before they play their inaugural games. So if you play from before 1960, when the draft roles around in the offseason of 1960-1961, you'll find the Angels and the Senators with the first two overall picks in the 1960 draft. You might play fictional or standard though. I'm just saying part of what you're asking for is already available in historical games.
