I'm not for one minute saying that pitch framing isn't real. It's like so many other attributes, makes the news when teams win (see Y Molina) much less when teams lose as Texas did last year. It's hard to frame gopher balls.  |
Well, Lucroy has declined in this category to the point where is isn't anything better than league average. I hear talk of pitch framing all the time. It is less talked about overall, mainly because all teams are aware of it and there is a much smaller gap between 1 and 30 than there was 5 years ago.
