Major announcement from the Colonial League
Caprica City – Colonial League officials today announced an exciting new addition to the Premier and Challenger Leagues. At the end of this season, a tournament will take place between the twelve tribes of Kobol. Instead of playing for clubs, the players of the Colonial Leagues will come together and represent their home colonies.
The tournament will be held every two years, and the host city will rotate between the colonies. The inaugural even will be hosted by Pailyn, Picon.
The twelve tribes will be drawn into two groups of 6. Each team will play 10 games in the group stage, 1 as the home team and 1 as the away team against each other team in their group. The top two in each group will advance to a single elimination playoff. Teams with the better records will be the home team for the single elimination games.
This tournament was formed thanks to requests from the President of the Colonies, and as such will be known as the President’s Challenge, and the winner’s trophy will be the President’s Trophy. This tournament will be a source of goodwill and friendly competition between the worlds.
The inaugural event will take place in Caprica’s October, roughly a month after the regular season ends.
