Offseaon update – October
With the draft just a few days away, we’re going to take a look at where some of the big name free agents have landed so far this offseason.
Jim Hoffman – The third baseman formerly of the Hadrian United will be playing in black and blue next season. He signed a 2 year, 22 million dollar deal with the Itar Aces. We noted that the Aces were looking for a good bat this offseason, and they seem to have found their man in Hoffman.
Tom Hopps – Hopps will be leaving Itar, and joining up with the Fateu Blaze. The league’s best closer signed a 2 year deal worth just over twenty million dollars, with a player option for year three. This signing should help bolster the Blaze’s woeful bullpen.
Este Della Vedova – The Riders managed to convince their star closer to stay. Della Vedova signed a one year extension worth just under ten million dollars.
Oscar Reimer – Left fielder Reimer moves from the Boskirk Brewers to the Reidi Drillers. The Driller offered Reimer a 2 year, 14 million dollar contract.
Scott Auchnie – The Caprica City Buccaneers sniped the first baseman from their Colonial Cup opponents, as Auchnie will jump from the Miners to the C-bucs for a 4 year, 39 million dollar contract. He will replace Brice Brown in the lineup.
Vasil de Brouwer – The Bulls are being relegated, but De Brouwer will stay in the Premier League, as he signs a 5 year, 52.5 million dollar deal with the Ersia Elephants.
There are still some notable free agents left to sign:
Carl Conner
Brice Brown
Steven Joseph
Keely Mobbs
The Entry Draft is next week. Be sure to stay with the Star for full coverage.
