The Montreal Canadiens (15-14-2) finish their Western swing at the Scotiabank Saddledome and the Calgary Flames (15-7-7) The Flames and Habs meet for the 1st time this year.


Montreal opens up the scoring and the 1-0 lead at 1:57 with LW Emile Boudreau's 7th goal of the year. Boudreau tipped RD Colton Knoll's shot while in front of the net, Mariani picked up the 2nd assist. The Flames tie it up late in the period at 19:15 with former Habs LW David Wass collecting his 1st goal of the year. Wass beat G Martin King with a wrist shot from the slot. The period ends with the shots 15-10 for Montreal.


The Flames get another late period goal, this time at 19:46 with RW Ed Porters 5th goal on a break away for the 2-1 lead. The shots after the 2nd period are now 22-21 for the Flames.


Montreal ties the score 2-2 at 4:08 of the 3rd period with LD Richard Nytra's 3rd of the year. Nytra beats the Flames goalie with a shot from the slot, Klusacek gets and assist. Montreal did not give up a late goal this period and leave with a tie. The shots were 28-25 for the Flames. Montreal RW Joey Mariani gets his 150th career NHL point tonight.


Montreal 2 Calgary 2


Calgary RW Ed Porter had a goal and an assist as the 1st star. The 21 year old now has 5 goals and 9 points with 6 PIMs and a +7 rating in 30 games. Porter had 16 points in both his 1st two seasons in the NHL. He played 57 games with Detroit in 2002-03 and 61 games with the Red Wings in 2003-04.


Ottawa Senators Candrakrti Ackerl made 34 stops in a 2-0 win over the Red Wings. The 29 year old now has 9 wins with 10 losses, 3 SO's, a 2.35 GAA and a .911 Sv% in 23 games. Ackerl had a career high 24 wins in 55 games for the 2002-03 Senators.
