Also scheduling. I see little point in having a division unless a team plays all or most of its games against division opponents. Because when teams play "everyone" and there are wild cards too divisions mean little. They just obscure the reality, which is they might as well throw every team into one group and take the top x number of teams for the playoffs. Because that's what's happening.
