In the top of the fifth, the Rangers again loaded the bases with one out. But Billings hit into the 6-4-3 to retire the side.
In the top of the sixth, Harrah reached 70 RBI on the season with a sacrifice fly.
In the bottom of the sixth, the Twins scored 2 on a Thomas triple.
After six: Texas 8 Minnesota 5.
Soderholm led off the bottom of the seventh with a single for the Twins 10th hit of the game. He would score on a wild pitch. With runners at first and second with one out, Horacio Pina replaced Rogers on the mound for the Rangers. A walk loaded the bases with one out. Thompson grounded to third and the lead runner was forced out at home. Two away. Pinch hitter Steve Brye then grounded to third to end the inning.
With a runner on first and one out in the top of the eighth, Wayne Granger took the mound for the Twins. Biittner doubled to give the Rangers 10 hits in the game. Harrah then hit his second 3-run homer of the game.
After a leadoff single in the bottom of the ninth, Paul Lindblad replaced Pina on the mound for the Rangers as the Rangers completed the sweep.
Final score: Texas 11 Minnesota 6.
