1 possible fix, maybe others that allow you to play the game out...
delete the game off the schedule, then go to the event list and also delete ASG entry. now, you should be able to advance without an ASG played. FYI: players will get credit for being an all-star that year too. they may not accrue any stats that year for asg appearances, but all other things will be 'normal' in that regard.
