The Gators were drafting third overall in the amateur draft and selected 18 year old starting pitcher John Guan with our first round pick. In the second round we selected another starting pitcher, 19 year old Willard 'Vampire' Burton.

We rounded out the top five with reliever Mark Hill, reliever Enrique Alvarez, and right fielder Craig Hines.
