Maroons responded with a great first period.

Detroit finally responded.
Larry Aurie and
Bobby Bauer made it a one goal game after two.
Frank Boucher would tie it, but
Pit Lepine gave
Montreal the lead back, which they wouldn’t relinquish. 4-3

Pressure early results in
Billy Cowley scoring on a rebound, and 5 minutes in it’s 1-0
Detroit.
Will Starr deflects in a
Lionel Hitchman point shot and its 2-0
Detroit halfway through the first.
Gordie Drillon makes it 3-0, and the
Detroit coronation looks to be beginning!
Detroit ends up leading 4-0 after the first period. The
Maroons got one back in the 2nd frame, but it didn’t matter. This one was over.
Detroit wins 4-1 and takes their first Stanley Cup!
