I have a couple of recommendations which may the situation better even though they don't solve the issue itself.

Go to the facial hair folder and delete the offensive beard styles. The game cannot import and use a style that is not in the folder! Remember that each style has five color iterations; you need to delete all five colors. (See first screen print.)
Take advantage of the Import/Export beard frequency data modules. (See second and third screen prints.) When you get a beard array that you like, export the data file and save it someplace. When beard matters get hairy again, you can quickly import the settings that you prefer.
