My 36 year old mop up reliever asked for contract negotiations mid-season. I opted and planned to negotiate during free agency.

But then he retired.

If I knew then, what I know now, he would have had a contract with us next season.

He filled a vital role and performed better than expected. Two short day to day injury stints despite a "fragile" injury history. He allowed us to come back on occasion and burned many innings during routs, keeping the rest of our bullpen fresh.

hmmm....Sorry Nick Sinclair! You will be missed.
