the owner's treat their players like cattle in nearly all ways... LoL (not just players, nearly all their employees in their other business ventures too)
what you might be thinking of is repercussions of guaranteed contracts. possibly carry-over of player-instituted seniority related B.S. (e.g. why vic martinez has to play like crap for 300+ games before they bump him down in line-up -- ego and insecurity related).
i promise the player's feelings are not considered anytime context is important to ignore it. money > feelings 100% in business. some exceptiosn will exist, but they are a novelty not the rule.
these same owners use bean counters to determine whether to issue safety recalls on their products or continue to let their %$#-up hurt/kill people!
what makes you think they care beyond public relations/optics? maybe if the media blows somethign up they change behaviour, but otherwise the status quo is to sh&t on you and make you feel happy and lucky for it.
there's a long track record of this behaviour.. .it's not opinion. their behaviour defines them, not their words.
