I understand the desire to revamp how the online experience works - exports, imports, and all that jazz aren't necessarily the easiest way for people to engage with the online gameplay. The core of OOTP still has plenty of room to be fleshed out though. I'm sure there are dozens people can rattle off examples from their head from financials to scouting to in-game managing/graphics etc. Will that do more to attain a new customer base than expanding online features? Probably not.
I see positives like letting online leagues have the managers actually play out playoff games as an example, but clunky features tend to harm a game's reputation. Cloud based features will force additional expenses to OOTP - will consumers have to bear these via a subscription fee? I like that we get what we see - extra DLC can be a real turn off too.
I'm curious if the recent implementation of promotion/relegation isn't just a stepping stone for OOTP to implement its true vision - an online super league with hundreds of teams and several divisions akin to English football across the Atlantic.
